iNovah
allows data which has been collected by iNovah Cashier workstations while in an
offline state via the Merge Offline Data page. (This would be necessary if
payments were sitting on a workstation which needed to be added to iNovah.)
Merging offline data performs the exact same functionality as coming back from
offline mode while at a cashier workstation. This function would only be used
if the Cashier workstation could not reconnect online.
The
Merge Offline Payments page is
located at Tools>Merge Offline Data.
(Example of
the Merge Offline Data page)
This
is not a tool that is needed often. The
only time this tool would be used is if iNovah Cashier was offline and a
cashier was processing payments. Those
payments would be held locally until iNovah Cashier became online. Hypothetically, before that machine came
online the computer crashed. Those
payments are stored locally on the machine.
An IT professional would be able to slave up the hard disk drive and
navigate to the location of the offline payments. Those payments can be brought into iNovah
using the Merge Offline Data page.
